Classic Cheese Omelette
Soft, buttery, and folded around a pocket of melted cheese — the recipe every breakfast cook should master first.
Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tbsp butter
- 40 g grated cheddar or gouda
- Pinch of salt & black pepper
- Fresh chives, chopped (optional)
Method
- Whisk the eggs with salt and pepper until fully blended.
- Melt butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat until it foams.
- Pour in the eggs. As they set, gently push the edges toward the centre.
- When mostly set but still glossy on top, sprinkle the cheese over one half.
- Fold, slide onto a plate, and finish with chives.
